Our Board Members

Who can join the PTA?

Anyone can join the PTA!  Parents, grandparents, teachers, school staff members, community members, and businesses are all welcome to join the PTA.  Visit our membership page to learn more about all the different membership options.

What is a PTA and what do they do?

PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association.  The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

Do I have to volunteer to be a member?

No!  Members are not expected to volunteer. As working and stay at home parents ourselves, we know your time is valuable.

The PTA has lots of opportunities for you to be involved as much or as little as your schedule allows.  With that said, we do offer volunteers entries into a drawing  for fun prizes for each hour they support an event at our school.

How does the money raised help the school?

All money earned is invested back into Sonoran Heights Elementary School.  See below for a breakdown of how our funds are spent.
